Up in the clouds

 Up in the clouds

Hi i’m a cloud worker! Don’t know what that is? I’ll tell you, a cloud worker moves clouds and places them in different places and shapes. I’m Andrew, I have jet black short hair and blue eyes. In order to be a cloud worker you have to not be afraid of heights

The building all the cloud workers live in is really tall. Strangely all the clouds disappeared, “wheres the clouds?” I asked Alec my work partner “don’t know- u-uhh where are they?” I climbed back down the railing and opened the door to the building.

I headed down the hall to see the sign “William’s office” on the door standing in front of me, William is my boss. I lifted my hand to the door and gently tapped, obviously forgetting his hearing is bad. I tapped harder “Yes? Come in!” I grabbed the door handle and twisted it open.

“Hello William!” I closed the door behind me. “What brings you here Andrew?” he asked “all the clouds are gone” I explained, he spun his chair around and looked out his window “oh wow!” he spun his chair back to look at me “have a day off and we’ll sort out this problem” he started taking notes.

I decided to go to the park and get ice cream. The day was bright and so was the night, I thought to myself “had some other business taken the clouds away?” suddenly everything went black.

I opened my eyes to see my hands tied up and my legs, I was sitting in a chair. I looked around to see the other cloud workers tied up too, but they were all knocked out. Whispered to the worker next to me hoping for them to wake up and they did!

"Hey wake up the person next to you and tell them to wake up the person next to them". That way everyone would be awake. A couple minutes later we were all planing on how to get out when a man walked in, he was wearing all black and a hood so you couldn’t see his face. I looked around to find William but he wasn’t there.

“What do you want with us!” some of the workers called “I want you guys to work for me, and William but a lot harder than you work right now” his voice was deep.“But what do you mean by you AND William!?” my eyes moved toward the door behind the man in black..William walked in, “hello guys! How are ya?” must of been sarcastic.

A few minutes later William and the man in black left out of the building but none of us knew how much time we had to try escape. I looked around for cameras, we were in luck their were none. I started wiggling my hands to see if the ropes would come loose. My hands are quite small so the ropes came off easy, I reached down to the ropes on my legs and untied them.

Once everyone was untied we started looking for ways to get out. There was a window on the back wall. It was like a jail sell, the window had metal bars and would take a few people to break the bars. I asked for strong people to help me while the other looked for different ways to escape. It took about 20 minutes to get the bars off and it took 4 people to help.

I started helping people get out the window when the door behind us swung open, everybody was out except me. “Well well well..” William walked toward me “please.. Let me go!” I yelled at him, he started walking towards me again “here I’ll help you out..” he started lifting me up to the window “bye Andrew!” I jumped out the window to see everyone waiting for me.

We went back to the building and stayed there for the rest of our lives

Snake storm poem

The storm

Rain pouring down spreading puddles like the snakes venom.

The wind is a hissing snake spitting out heavy rain.

The thunder bangs as the windmills fly like the snake attacking its pray.

The clouds are as colorful as the snakes skin.

The ground is muddy from the hissing rain.

The roaring wind pushing down the windmills.

Refugee creative writing!

Refugee - by Lilley

This is my story.

Hi there I’m a refugee and I'm gonna tell you my story! I woke up on a rainy day to a loud gun shot and realized our country was under attack so I jumped up, got dressed and woke up the rest of my family. While packing our bags I looked out the window to see men with guns threatening little kids. At that time I was 11 years old, I had a little sister  whose name was Emily, my name is Aria, my dad died when I was 2 and my mum now looks after us two. Then I heard a crash coming from the roof “HIDE” yelled mum I climbed out my window into a bush in the backyard...then I heard my sister scream I waited for about half an hour, (silence) I heard my mum whispering  me and my sisters name I was the only one who came out my sister was nowhere to be seen.

After searching for Emily we gave up she was completely gone plus we had no more time to look we HAD to go. Soon deciding where to go we decided to go to Paris. We knew it would take a long time but we would be safe though we had to let our pet mouse go. It was sad to see her face one last time. Me and my mum's faces were burning from crying so much that we lost our mouse and my sister. By the time we got to a boat we were in a group of people, the boat wasn’t really full which was good cause that meant we weren’t squished into each other so we had space to move around. It took a day to get to the closest refugee camp, we stayed there for a week. It was strange sleeping in a camp rather than a house.

The food was gross but it was something. They couldn’t blame me. I was still getting used to staying in a refugee camp, on Monday we set off to a small town, we stayed there for a couple hours. We got food from our leftover money then we headed off to the mountains with a different group. It was hard to get to Paris but we eventually made it there. It took 2 years in a half seeing how crowded the camps were. That was my adventure. Thanks for listening!
