Science Roadshow

Yesterday (Tuesday 31.3.21) We had a Science Roadshow in Ōtaki College hall.

Once we got to the hall all of the year 7 and year 8 classes were sitting down facing two girls in front of their desk. once everyone was there Two girls named Jess and Mary.

Jess and Mary had a slideshow which had a recap of what we did with them, Jess and Mary made multiple explosions,

I found out you could pop a balloon using just orange skins! and that you could make a mini tornado made out of fire

after the first show with Jess and Mary we got to walked around freely to have a look at the other cool science stuff that was set up

My favourite thing was the scents( where you have to smell something and guess which fruit it was)

and the Curtain, for the curtain you had to go inside and sit on the stool inside, the girl would turn it on and it'd spin fast, on the outside it was pink and the inside and had and white strips.

The strips would cause it to look blurry. but when it stopped your eyesight was normal again

Once our time was over we went and sat back down, this time there was another girl, her name is Steph, Mary had gone but Jess was still there

They asked for a volunteer and a boy named Jayden put his hand up first so he went up to help

He put this weird jelly thing in a clear liquid(i don't think it was water)  then he picked it up and it was long and skinny.

The second time he did it, it was in a different liquid but it was still clear, he put the Jelly stuff in and tried to pick it up but he couldn't

After that we left
